submission:Authors are invited to submit abstracts of at most one pagebefore March 20, 2004. There will soon be instructions forauthors. The notifications of acceptance are scheduled for April 15,2004.Important Note: Each submitted abstract must be preparedin accordance with AMS-Latex (seehttp://www.ams.org/tex/). We have put together hopefully a diverse andexciting program that includes plenary lectures to be givenby Bard Ermentrout,Rakesh Jain,Simon Levin,Alan Perelson,Charles Peskin,Tamar Schlick,James Sneyd, andMichael Waterman We also will be running numerous minisymposia andcontributed sessionson the topics of NeuroscienceTumor growth and controlEcologyEducationImmunology and Infectious DiseasesMathematical Challenges in BiologyDevelopmental BiologyMolecular genetics and Computational BiologyPhysiology and Cellular Biology.Anyone interested in organizing a minisymposium orcontributed sessions, i.e., a group of up to 6 talks of 15minutes each on a focused subject, is encouraged to submita proposal to the conference organizers through theconference website. We encourage proposals that include 6speakers or less as many other people will want tocontribute a talk and the organizers will place themaccordingly. Also, we are now accepting abstracts in poster or lectureformat from anyone interested in participating in theconference. Please advise the organizers as to which youprefer and they will do their best to accommodate. In case of questions and for further information, please seehttp://www.math.lsa.umich.edu/SMB2004/SMBindex.html Algorithms for Macromolecular Modelling IVAugust 18 – 21, 2004, University of Leicester, UK The goal of this meeting is to assess the state of the art inthe development of algorithmic tools for simulation oflarge molecules (especially biomolecules), and to helpidentify the most important directions for future researchon this subject. Molecular simulation is now a standardtool in a vast plethora of chemical processes ranging fromapplications in nanotechnology to the identification andprediction of biomolecular structure and function. To date, many challenges have been addressed in an incompletemanner, and there is a continuing demand for high qualityalgorithms and supportive theory for high performancecomputations. Principal topics to be addressed at this meet-ing are algorithms for force evaluation, integration, andsampling; methods for structure prediction, reaction paths, free energy profiles and conformational dynamics; model-ling of force fields and implicit solvents; and multiscaletechniques for quantum-classical and classical-elastic mod-els. Identification and characterization of major histocompatibility complex class IIB alleles from three species of European ranid frogs

Immune genes of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) are among the most polymorphic genes in the vertebrate genome. Due to their polymorphic nature, they are often used to assess the adaptive genetic variability of natural populations. This study describes the first molecular characterization of 13 partial MHC class IIB sequences from three European ranid frogs.  The utility of previously...

Mathematical analysis and pricing of the European continuous installment call option

In this paper we consider the European continuous installment call option. Then  its linear complementarity formulation is given. Writing the resulted problem in variational form, we prove the existence and uniqueness of its weak solution. Finally finite element method is applied to price the European continuous installment call option.
